1971 Honda CB750 K1 – Sold and off to Brisbane AU
1971 Honda CB750 K1. Restored, refurbished, rebuilt.
This beautiful K1 was originally imported to Vancouver Island BC, Canada most likely to Victoria Honda. It came and went from the dealership over the years until a long term employee bought it. He went on to start and operate the largest motorcycle dealership on Vancouver Island. An enthusiast and restorer / mechanic he turned his attention to this K1 and proceeded with a full mechanical and cosmetic restoration from the original bike. This was when NOS parts from Honda were not so hard to find. My research of the pieces shows a very exacting 71. He must have found NOS clocks as these are correct and the milage reflects the few hundred miles he put on the bike. The bike was decommissioned and placed in his collection. I bought it and brought into the ACL collection in 2017. Recently, turning my attention to this beautiful K1, I disassembled much and made several improvements to hardware, finishes etc. I replaced the wiring harness with a new genuine harness (really didn’t need it), new handlebar controls, rebuilt and refinished the original brake caliper and added an NOS upper brake hose. I removed the carbs, disassembled and put everything through the ultrasonic parts washer, thoroughly cleaned the fuel tank and reassembled the system with new fuel line and fuel petcock. Although I build wheels I could not justify taking these originals apart as the D.I.D rims had only superficial marks. A very exacting, mostly original (to the bike) and all genuine Honda. A fine example of an iconic CB750 K1
